Sira Pellicer (Valencia, 2000) is a Spanish saxophonist specialised in classical and contemporary music.
She studied a Bachelor degree in Music at the Balearic Islands Conservatory (Majorca, 2018-2022) with Professors Xabier Casal and Beatriz Tirado, and she is currently studying a Master of Arts in Music Performance at the ZhdK with Professor Lars Mlekusch.
Over the course of her career, she has won several awards, for instance, third prize in the International Saxophone Competition Saxiana (Paris, 2019), Hans-Schaeuble Award 2019 (Switzerland, 2019), Highly Commended in European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), Peregrinos Musicales Award (Santiago de Compostela, 2021) and first prize in the Art Jove 2021 competition (Balearic Islands, 2021).
She has also been active as an ensemble performer, collaborating with many musical groups – among them, the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra (EUYWO) conducted by Jan Cober – and highlighting Lítore Quartet (2019-*), saxophone quartet awarded with second prize and Best Performance of a Work by a Spanish Composer Award in the Certamen Internacional para Jóvenes Intérpretes Pedro Bote, Art Jove 2022 Award (Majorca, 2022) and first prize in the Concurso Internacional de Música de Cámara de Arnuero (Arnuero, 2022), among others.
She has furthered her artistic education being a member of the Act and Play Theatre School, working in Meisner Technique and Viewpoints. .
