Simon Fluri wurde 1999 in Montréal, Kanada geboren und ist in Bern aufgewachsen. Er entdeckte seine Begeisterung für das Saxophon bei seinem Lehrer Christian Roellinger. Während der Gymnasialen Ausbildung besuchte er die Talentförderung Hofwil und konnte bereits parallel zur schulischen Ausbildung das Musikstudium an der Hochschule der Künste Bern aufnehmen. Nachdem er 2018 den Bachelor absolvierte, schloss er im Sommer 2020 an der Hochschule der Künste Bern den Master of Pedagogy mit Auszeichnung ab. Zurzeit studiert er im Master of Specialized Performance mit der Vertiefung Solist an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste beim international bekannten Saxophonisten und Dirigenten Lars Mlekusch. Im vergangenen Semester hatte er die Möglichkeit an der Sibelius Academy in Helsinki mit Joonatan Rautiola zu studieren.
Simon Fluri hat verschiedene Wettbewerbe gewonnen, darunter zweimal den Schweizer Jugendmusikwettbewerb mit Auszeichnung und zweimal den Studienpreis des Migros-Kulturprozent und wurde in dessen Konzertvermittlung aufgenommen. Ausserdem ist er ein Hans-Schaeuble-Award Preisträger und wurde von der Hirschmann-Stiftung, sowie der Yamaha Europe Music Foundation unterstützt. Als Solist durfte er mit dem Arosa Bergensemble und dem HKB-Kammerorchester auftreten. Er ist Gründungsmitglied des Duo Kaamos und des Saxophonquartetts Lamineur. Bereits 2015 durfte er am internationalen Saxophonkongress in Strasbourg als Saxophonist mitwirken. Zusätzlich ist er als Saxophonlehrer und Dirigent in Bern tätig. Bei Masterkursen hat er diverse Inputs von Claude Delangle, Vincent David, Arno Bornkamp, Jean-Yves Fourmeau und vielen anderen international bekannten Saxophonisten bekommen.

Simon Fluri was born in Montréal, Canada in 1999 and grew up in Bern, Switzerland. He discovered his passion for the saxophone with his teacher Christian Roellinger. During his secondary school education, he was part of the Talentförderung Hofwil where he started studying music at the Bern University of the Arts parallel to his school education. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2018, he completed the Master of Pedagogy with distinction at the Bern University of the Arts in the summer of 2020. He is currently studying the Master in Specialized Music Performance with a specialization in soloist with the renowned saxophonist and conductor Lars Mlekusch at the Zurich University of the Arts. Last semester he had the opportunity to study at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki with Joonatan Rautiola.
Simon Fluri has won various music prizes, including twice the first prize with distinction of the Swiss Youth Music Competition and twice the Studienpreis des Migros-Kulturprozent and is now part of their concert management program. Furthermore, he is a recipient of the Hans-Schaeuble-Award and is supported by the Yamaha Europe Music Foundation as well as the Hirschmann-Stiftung. As a soloist he had the opportunity to perform with the Arosa Bergensemble and the HKB Chamber Orchestra. He is a founding member of the Duo Kaamos and the Saxophonquartet Lamineur. In addition, he is active as a saxophone teacher and conductor in Bern. During masterclasses he received various inputs from Claude Delangle, Vincent David, Arno Bornkamp, Jean-Yves Fourmeau and many other internationally renowned saxophonists.
