JASON FRAZIER
Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee,Jason Frazier is a rising concert saxophonist seeking to broaden audiences for the classical saxophone. He has won prizes in the National YoungArtsCompetition and Interlochen Concerto Competition, and, recently, was named a winner of theHans Schaeuble-Award in the Arosa Klassik Festival. Jason is also the baritone saxophonist of the Eros Quartet. As a member of the ensemble, they have won top prizes in prestigious competitions, namely Second Prize in the Briggs Chamber Music Competition, First Prize in theNOLA Chamber Music Festival, and the Silver Medal of the Fischoff National Chamber MusicCompetition. The Eros Quartet was also awarded a Binkow Prize, courtesy of the University ofMichigan, in order to pursue commissions of young, diverse composers to expand the relevancy of the saxophone quartet as well as to uplift young compositional voices. Other chamber music ventures for Jason have included being featured as a guest performer with the PRISM Quartet and as a collaborative musician for the 2019 YoungArts Week in New York. Jason has recently completed his undergraduate studies under Dr. Timothy McAllister at the University of MichiganSchool of Music, Theater, and Dance, and he will soon pursue a Masters of Arts degree under Lars Mlekusch at the Zurich University of the Arts.
