Christian Kunz was born in 2002 in Zurich, Switzerland. He started playing the saxophone at the age of nine. In 2015 he was included with the saxophone in the A-Spiel of the Youth Orchestra Lenzburg as one of the youngest players. In 2017 the music school of Lenzburg decided to include him in the music talent promotion program of the canton of Aargau for saxophone and piano.
Christian Kunz has won prizes at various competitions, such as a first prize with award at the Aargau Music Competition or a first prize at the Swiss Youth Music Competition. He participated in a master class for saxophone at the Arosa Music Academy, led by Prof. Lars Mlekusch, Prof. Timothy McAllister and Prof. Christian Wirth.
From 2018 Christian Kunz took lessons with Amit Dubester and was accepted into the PreCollege of the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) in 2019. Since September 2020 Christian Kunz is studying saxophone with Prof. Lars Mlekusch at the Zurich University of the Arts.
Christian Kunz wurde 2002 in Zürich, Schweiz, geboren. Er begann mit neun Jahren mit dem Saxophon spielen. 2015 wurde er mit dem Saxophon ins A-Spiel des Jugendspiel Lenzburg aufgenommen als einer der jüngsten Spieler. 2017 entschied die Musikschule Lenzburg, ihn in die Musikbegabtenförderung des Kantons Aargau für Saxophon und Klavier aufzunehmen.
Christian Kunz hat an diversen Wettbewerben Preise gewonnen wie am Aargauer Musikwettbewerb einen 1. Preis mit Auszeichnung oder am Schweizer Jugend Musik Wettbewerb einen 1. Preis. Er hat an der Arosa Musik Academy einen Meisterkurs für Saxophon auf höchstem Niveau teilgenommen, geleitet von Prof. Lars Mlekusch, Prof. Timothy McAllister und Prof. Christian Wirth.
Ab 2018 nahm Christian Kunz Unterricht bei Amit Dubester und wurde 2019 ins PreCollege der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK) aufgenommen. Seit September 2020 studiert Christian Kunz an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste Saxophon bei Prof. Lars Mlekusch.
